The short answer: yes — and you never have to take that on faith, because the model is see it first, free. We build your one-page site, you look at it with no card and no commitment, and only if you love it do you pay $1 a day ($365 + GST a year, $419.75 incl. GST) for the domain, hosting, security, Google and AI-search setup and five updates a year. 30-day full refund, no lock-in, and the domain is registered in your name from day one.
A fair question, so let’s answer all of it
“A whole website for a dollar a day” pattern-matches to too-good-to-be-true, and healthy suspicion is exactly the instinct we’d recommend everywhere else on the internet. So this page does what we’d want any business to do: state the whole deal in plain text, including the catch, and show you how to verify it.
What the deal actually is
- The build is free during launch. We design and build a professional one-page site from your business info, written and checked by a person before you ever see it.
- You look before you pay. The preview is free — no card, no deposit, no commitment. If it’s not right, you’ve spent two minutes and owe nothing.
- $1 a day covers everything. $365 + GST a year ($419.75 incl. GST), billed annually through Stripe. That includes the .co.nz domain (registered in your name, renewals covered while you’re subscribed), fast hosting, SSL and security, Google + AI-search setup, and five content updates a year. Elsewhere those line items commonly add to $2,500+ in year one.
- It renews at the same price. We email you before it renews. No year-two surprise is the whole point of the number.
The catch, examined honestly
There is a catch — it’s just scope, not fine print:
- It’s one page. The right size for a local business that needs to be found, trusted and contacted — but if you need a store, online bookings or many pages, this isn’t that product, and here’s when a one-pager stops being enough.
- Five updates a year, not unlimited. New hours, prices, photos — email us and it’s done. A full redesign every month isn’t in a $365 budget, and we’d rather say so here than surprise you later.
- Free builds are capped per release — currently 100 sites — because every site is checked by hand before you see it, and that’s real work we won’t rush. When a release fills, the next one opens; the cap is capacity, not fake scarcity.
Why so cheap (the boring truth)
Word of mouth is our whole marketing budget. We want the biggest portfolio of small-business websites in New Zealand, and every live site sells the next one for us — you get launch pricing, we get a happy business that tells other businesses. Modern hosting also costs very little when sites are built properly, and there’s no office tower in the overheads. A dollar a day covers it. All we ask in return: if you love it, tell another business owner.
The guarantees, word for word
Straight from our guarantee page:
- See it first, free. You only pay if you love it.
- 30-day money-back guarantee. If it’s not right within 30 days, email us and we’ll refund everything you’ve paid. One guarantee per business.
- No lock-in. Cancel anytime. Your site simply stops renewing. The .co.nz domain is registered in your name and stays yours.
- Renews at the same $1 a day — with an email to you before it does.
That last domain point deserves a highlight, because it’s the thing that actually protects you with any provider: whoever owns the domain owns the relationship. Ours go in your name, so even the worst case — you leave us, we vanish, you outgrow the product — ends with you holding your address.
Who’s behind it
GoDigital — NZ-owned, Auckland-based, with hundreds of NZ small-business sites built. onedollar.co.nz is our launch offer for one-page sites; bigger builds and digital marketing run under GoDigital itself. The wider family includes KiwiAgent.ai (AI phone agents for Kiwi businesses) and SaaSKool (Salesforce consulting across NZ and Australia). Real company, real people, real GST invoices.
How to check us, properly
Don’t trust the pitch — verify the way we’d tell you to verify anyone: the price and inclusions above are the whole deal (pricing details here); the terms and guarantee are public and short enough to actually read; and the strongest check of all is the product itself — ask to see your own site, free. A business confident in its work shows you the work first. That’s the model.
